Smiths Darko?

Ok, so "Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others" at the Hammersmith Lyric is the most abstract, pretentious thing I have ever seen. The lady in front of us read her issue of Time Out and then she and her partner walked out after 20 minutes, as did the couple behind us.

There was also laughter- in scenes that weren't meant to be funny-but the "story" takes itself so seriously it backfires. I put quotation marks around the word story because there didn't seem to be a plot.

That's not to say that the cast were bad. For the most part, they had great voices. The arrangements to some songs were great but other's were bizarre and inconsistent.

There was a character that spent a great deal of time in a Bunny suit (this freaked Freddie out), one that was wrapped in sheets and dragged off a table (causing much unintended hilarity in the audience), one who shot everyone (don't know why), a trapese dance, cross-dressing and weird video background that reminded me of Suede's Dog Man Star tour.

I bolted for the loo as soon as the show was over. Freddie, Welsh David, Bryan and I then went for doubles at some silly bar nearby where the music was too loud but we didn't care.

Khalid rang to say he was meeting his sister Sara in town and did I want to join him when I was done?

So Freddie and I headed into town only to discover Sara had cancelled after Khalid made into town so he'd gone to join Lloyd in flyering for Tommy and Trash Palace. Ferrance was in the Village so we joined him and his mates there after I made a made dash to work so I could use the toilet.

We drank some more. It was fun. The end.
