The Arockolipse Has ARRIVE! ROCK ON!

Fireworks, Terry Wogan, Technical Failures, garbled English, Bad Costumes, Cheesy Songs and Athens...yes, last night was all about Eurovision

We had been celebrating Khalid's birthday at Hani's flat. The whole Shawwa clan was there, plus Jeremy, his sister Amy, Hani's friend Anthony and myself.

We stuffed ourselves silly, had TWO cakes, played a very competitive game of Cranium before Eurovision took over. You can read reports of the nighthere


We were rooting for Finland's Lordi with "Hard Rock Hallilujah" (imagine Klingon's with guitars-pictured) and Lithuania's football chanty all the way (the British entry was perplexing at best)

The rest was the usual apallingly bad songs and silly costumes. Finland swept the board and won the night! For once Europe showed sense. See the footage of Lordi's performancehere
