Life Goes On
And so it does...
Afterwork on Friday I went to the Lincoln Lounge to see Lvpl St David and his colleagues Alisdair, Helen and Nik. We had a great time. We were philosophical but we needed to be around other people and we did have a great time. It seemed like a priviledge just to be there and we weren't about to take it for granted.
I later went to Popstarz with Stuart, Richard and one of his work mates. Popstarz is held at the Scala, just by King's Cross station. Usually there is a block long queue but there wasn't one that night.
Inside there was maybe 1/3 of the usual number of people but everyone who was there was hammered, dancing and having the time of their lives. There was a very joyous buzz to the place and hats off to Simon et al for having the courage to keep it going. It honestly felt like an honour to be there.
Sophie M was having her birthday and we were all just, well, bloody happy. I had a great time with her, her partner Michelle and brother Dominic. I also ran into my ex-flatmate Lee and we giggled a lot and behaved in a silly fashion.
They did shut at 3am, which is an hour or two earlier than usual, and everyone was severely drunk but the joiux de vivre was still with us. I know I can't spell.
