This is the inner ear:
Apparently my "anvil" (#3- the incus)) has been almost completely eroded away by Cholesteatoma.
They are going to have to remove all the bones to get rid of the cholesteatoma. If they leave them in the Cholesteatoma won't go away, and will eventually eat through into my brain.
So they are going to try to place the ear drum (#1)directly onto the cochlea (#8) so that my hearing is not affected. They may be able to salvage a bit of the "stirrup"(#4) to attach the two together.
They will also close the perforation in the ear drum.
I think it all sucks. It will also likely make me very nauseous.
