It's Been Emotional

My quiet one, the weekend, was quiet for my standards but still not without drama.

The main drama happened on Saturday night when I happily arrived in Lambeth North for dinner at David and Albert's. I found Albert standing across the street from his house with some bloke I'd never seen before. They looked worried.

Albert came running up and explained that they had been babysitting Arthur, Lloyd and Khalid's dog, while L&K went shopping. The door was left open and the dog was gone.

Lambeth North is near Waterloo, and it basically a concrete jungle fully of alleys, side-streets, council estates, shops, little parks and a major intersection with 5 possible routes to different areas of London. The search party also consisted of people who had never met Arthur (Keb's cousin William, and Mark's brother Neil)

So ensued about 2-3 hours of searching in a the very unseasonably cold wind. Lloyd and Khalid rushed back from their shopping. Eventually it was too dark and cold. We ate dinner, there were quite a few of us sat around the table, but it was a bit solemn. Lloyd and Khalid returned home to Walthamstow half-way through the meal.

Mark, Keb and his sister Izzy, and Albert headed for Duckie. David, Neil, William and myself stayed behind and drank vodka while listening to hard house and gushed about Tony De Vit. Neil and Williams left when we started playing Karim (maybe they got scared?)

Khalid rang about 2am to say that they had found Arthur. Apparently a homeless person found him in Embankment Tube Station and handed him into a bouncer at a club. The bouncer rang the number on Arthur's tag and the rest is history.

We were all much relieved and the remainder of the evening was far more enjoyable. Albert returned from Duckie and so we celebrated by eating a tub of Hageen Das. Mmmm.
