The Pope is Dead

Conservatives Move to Lead the Church. THIS IS BAD PEOPLE.

I was raised Catholic, and went to a Catholic school til I was 19, so I can say all this as fully baptised and confirmed member of the faith! Sure, I don't believe, but hey, I suffered enough under the church to give my 2 pence worth!

People are boo-hooing the Pope, and sure, he did some good things. He also did many ill-advised things that are not appropriate for this day in age. My biggest bone with him is that even in the age of HIV/AIDS, he insisted that using condoms was wrong. When there's an epidemic going on, that's just down-right irresponsibe and immoral. How many deaths were caused by this attitude?

Let's not forget he was ABSOLUTELY dead against women having a bigger role in the Church.

Unfortunately, the Church's mentallity is still stuck somewhere in the 15th Century. There are progressive cardinals and leaders, but they are often ignored by the big cheeses in the Vatican, which is a shame. The church could take advantage of scientific advancements and new thought. It's not all necessarily against Biblical teachings, but they just like to stick to tradition because it's easier.
