The weekend was a bit of write-off.
Friday night WAS good, mind. I met David and Sid at the Lincoln Lounge. David's co-worker Nick was there and very drunk. He managed to spit on me (by mistake) and tell me in a long, rambling way that I was wearing the same perfume as his ex-girlfriend (from when he was teenager!), and then he kissed the top of my head. It was weird.
The Lounge was in a bit of shambles due to the strange new bar men. Who had run out of change and wanted to be paid in exact change. WHATEVER. Bar. Central London. Friday Night. You should have change or expect to lose customers. Cash Points don't give out coins you dipshits.
Lloyd, and later Welsh David joined us. We did manage to get some drinks in (thanks to Lvpl St David for the cocktails!)
Popstarz was next. It was heaving and I saw many people there that I hadn't seen in ages. There was Anthea (whom I have seen but always across a crowded room), Gene and Rose from the good ol' Room 2 c.1999 days, James, also from those days, ex-flatmates, Gareth, Chris P...oh the list goes on.
There was some Celebrity Big Brother thing being shot in the main room for Channel 4, but we missed it because we were dancing upstairs. We only got there for the last 15 seconds. Oh well.
I won some badges during the Chemical Brother's give away, and the Davids got a t-shirt each. The new CB track, Galvanize sounds absolutely awesome on the dance floor.
In fact, the first couple of hours at Popstarz kicked ass and it was brilliant.
Tragically, I drank far too much. About 2am Popstarz got a bit boring. They must stop playing the following tracks because I am SICK OF THEM:
1-Song 2- Blur
2-Smells Like Teen Spirit- Nirvana (They have other songs you know. Think In Utero!)
3-All Day Long I Think About Sex by ? (It killed the atmosphere. It's not clever.)
4- Anything Electro except Peaches. (Honestly. Boring. It's SOOO 2002!!)
5- There's No Other Way- Blur
6- Cannon Ball- The Breeders
7- Hey Boy, Hey Girl- The Chemical Brothers (Galvanize is the way forward!)
Suggestions welcomed!
At 3 I tried to go home but the queue to for the cloak room was ridiculous. It was going from the first floor, up the stairs, through the double doors, and around to the walk way in the main room.
Eventually I made it out.
I felt like crap for the rest of the weekend due to hangover/period pain, neusea, bloatedness, dizzyness...etc.
I did make it to Winchmore Hill to see Vanessa and Shaz but I was so tired I wasn't much fun. Also, the last train back into town from Winchmore Hill is at 11:30pm so it's not like you can let rip while there. Hmph.
